Wexford Car Rally 2008
6th-7th September
One of the most popular Rallies on the calendar, in 2006 the rally returned home to it’s Wexford Town Loch Garman base at the Riverbank House Hotel.
The Rally centre being less than 15minutes from the ferry port at Rosslare harbour and a good selection of Hotels, Bed & Breakfast and self catering accommodation at hand the logistics of this even are almost perfect.
It is sometimes difficult to know if it is simply a Car Rally or a pilgrimage with Competitors and Spectators alike returning year after year to participate in the rallying and atmosphere and of course Ireland most famous tipple the Guinness !
The stages are fast Irish Tar, which run on the Saturday and Sunday and like many Irish events if you retire on the Saturday but can repair your car by the Sunday morning, you can enter a separate event the ‘Sunday Run’ and still have a chance of returning home with an award.
This years event is part of Fairfield Motorsport’s ‘Rallysport Cup’ and will be one of it’s most exciting rounds with big money on offer from the Rally organizers for the top finishers in two-wheel drive cars, visit the club web site to read more

Ferry travel with excellent rates from Fairfield Motorsport is the best way to go to the Wexford Car Rally, and although there is a small Airport at Waterford some 40miles away there are not to many flights on offer www.waterfordairport.ie Cork and Dublin both have International Airports and flights to these can be found with quick links on Fairfield Motorsports Airline page, but Cork is 120miles drive each way and Dublin 90miles and with the Rally being less than 12miles from the ferry port at Rosslare, ferry travel looks the most sensible option ! don’t sit in the infamous Dublin traffic jam’s or the congestion at New Ross and Waterford travel the sensible way from Fishguard or Pembroke and land at Rosslare the gateway to Ireland.
